ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

Together we're helping to protect the rainforest

When you buy a guitar from Live Louder, your purchase helps to save and protect the rainforest.

  • For every guitar sold, we give £1 to World Land Trust who work with international partners to save vulnerable areas.

Guitars and the Environment

Guitars are made from hardwoods, and the quest for tone has already led to certain hardwoods being pushed to the edge of extinction. It's been 25 years since guitar makers could use Brazilian mahogany, and we've had to turn to alternative, similar trees to satisfy the demand for new instruments. What's more, some of the most popular tonewoods, like ebony and rosewood tend to grow alone, surrounded by other species, so it can take a lot of logging to get to that single tree.

At Live Louder, we want to leave a net positive impact on the environment. That's why for every 100 guitars we sell, we donate £100 to Word Land Trust's Buy An Acre fund. This buys one acre in the most vulnerable habitats, extending existing nature reserves or creating new ones, protecting both the land and the creatures that rely on it. We are also raising awareness with our suppliers of the importance of using timber from traceable and sustainable sources, and are pleased to see brands we work with  like Faith Guitars publishing an Ethics and Sustainability policy. referencing FSC certification.

About World Land Trust

World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity, which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre. Since its foundation in 1989, WLT has funded partner organisations around the world to create reserves, and give permanent protection to habitats and wildlife. Sir David Attenborough is a WLT patron.

The mission of the World Land Trust is:

  • To protect and sustainably manage natural ecosystems of the world. To conserve their biodiversity, with emphasis on threatened habitats and endangered species;
  • To develop partnerships with local individuals, communities and organisations to engage support and commitment among the people who live in project areas;
  • To raise awareness, in the UK and elsewhere, of the need for conservation, to improve understanding and generate support through education, information and fundraising

You can learn more about WLT or make a donation at the World Land Trust website.
